Karen has been working as an editor for more than a decade. She was the Associate Editor for The Manhattan Spirit and Our Town in New York where she edited news, and the Arts Editor at Citysearch in San Francisco where she edited arts content. She served as the Editorial Director at Zest Books, an independent creative nonfiction publisher, where she acquired, developed, and edited all of the manuscripts for the company’s first five years. She’s also edited books for Sunset Magazine books division. Karen’s edited books on a wide range of subjects including cinema, fashion, the environment, home improvement, philosophy, self-help, DIY, yoga, family, beauty, and health.
Karen has also worked as a dramaturg on theatrical and cinematic works with emerging writers as well as seasoned playwrights such as Erik Ehn and Octavio Solis, and has worked privately with clients, specifically in the yoga community, on developing book proposals and other written works.
